ShakenCover5x8

“After an earthquake wreaks havoc, the earth is left disturbed and altered. Whatever remains in ruin is left shaken and in need of rebuilding.”

Scarlett Brooks doesn’t need love. The only men she can trust in her life are her twin brother and his two best friends, Logan and Caleb. Every other guy has only let her down, and she promises herself to never to experience heartbreak again.

Logan King can’t stand back and watch his best friend’s twin sister continue to spiral out of control. With random hookups, drunken nights, and reckless decisions, she is on the path to self-destruction. He sets out to slow her down and prove that she isn’t happy with her one-night stands.

The two come dangerously close to crossing lines. Is Scarlett capable of trusting and opening up to love again? Will it ruin their friendship if Logan is the one to teach her how?

This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. Characters are introduced in Jolted and Impacted.

Excerpt

What a colossal waste of time, I thought as I slid my jeans back up and buttoned them. The room was dark as I searched the dingy carpet for my shirt. I knew I tossed it over this way. Finally finding the purple low-cut top I wore out tonight, I pulled it over my head and ran my fingers through my long, dark hair.

“Thanks, Mike,” I called over my shoulder. “That was great,” I lied.

“It’s Matt,” he panted.

I mumbled something that could have been an apology and looked over my shoulder at Matt. He was still on his back, trying to catch his breath. A thin coat of sweat covered his chest and his rock-hard abs glistened from the street lamp that shone through his blinds. He really was sexy, especially naked. It was a pity he didn’t live up to my expectations.

I gave him a flirty wave and grabbed my purse off the floor before leaving the half-naked guy alone in his room. He grunted a bye to me without bothering to move. At least someone was satisfied. I let myself out of his room, trying to avoid the roommates I knew were in the “party-room”, playing beer pong.

“Scarlett!” someone yelled. “Be on my team!”

“No, I’m good,” I hollered as I kept walking. I’d had enough to drink and I was sure my hand-eye coordination had decreased since my first few games. In fact, it was probably non-existent by this point.

I weaved through the house, keeping my hand on the wall for balance. I had no idea what I was thinking going to another college party. I knew from my short stint at the University of Cincinnati that the parties held around campus were always the same. There were drunk guys looking to get laid and even drunker girls to take advantage of.

I wasn’t one of those girls. No one took advantage of me anymore. I knew when I crawled into a boy’s bed that, after a whole twenty minutes of slurred conversation, they would not be calling the next day. In fact, that was the main reason I attended tonight. I had no false assumptions that the guy I bedded would be calling me ever again. This was sex, a release, and nothing more.

I stumbled down the hall and found the bathroom. I slipped inside, locking the door behind me. My reflection stared back at me. My long, dark hair was a tangled mess with streaks of brightly colored hair sticking out everywhere. My eyes were bloodshot and surrounded with heavy makeup and perfectly winged eyeliner. I had a hickey on my collarbone, and my cheeks were flushed pink. I was the definition of a hot mess.

I leaned over a sink that had seen better days and filled my cupped hands with cold water. I splashed my face, hoping to reverse the effects of the tequila shots I took when I first arrived. The walls continued to close in and my reflection stared back, judging.

“Shit,” I whispered to myself.

I couldn’t drive now, or any time soon for that matter. I pulled out my phone and dialed the one number I knew would save me. It went to voicemail twice before he finally picked up. I heard rustling and grunting before his gruff voice filled my ear.

“What?”

“I need a ride,” I said in the sweetest voice I could muster.

“Where are you?” he asked without missing a beat.

“Off campus. I’ll text you the address.”

“Fuck, Scarlett,” he scolded. “That’s almost a half hour drive.”

“Thank you, Logan,” I said before ending the call.

Logan would come for me. He always did.

Series Blitz: The Bowen Series by Elle Aycart and Giveaway

MORE THAN MEETS THE INK
Author: Elle Aycart
Series: Bowen #1
~ SYNOPSIS ~
Wickedly sexy James Bowen is a bad boy of the highest order — tattoos and attitude included — which unfortunately ranks way up on Tate’s not-a-chance-in-hell list, right there along with skydiving naked over Teheran and juggling Ebola vials just for kicks. But what the heck, she’s on holiday, the guy is absolutely irresistible, and she needs to unplug from her life. With her dad and brother gone, Tate is left to deal with the family restaurant, which is fast going down the drain. Her employees are acting out, her boyfriend has bailed out, and her very own private stalker is emailing her to death with lovely threats of doom, fire, and dismemberment. So yeah, maybe a little holiday fling is in order. Strictly sex though, and no follow-up whatsoever once home.
She hadn’t counted on her take-charge holiday fling having an opinion of his own and stubbornly sticking around, before and after the sex, making himself at home in her life. There is definitely more to James than meets her prejudiced eye, and even if she’s not ready to look deeper, James isn’t prepared to permit her not to.

EXCERPT

She lay naked on the white linen sheet, her golden blonde hair fanned out across her pillow. She had been my all, the one to come into my life, cause havoc, and claim my heart. She had been my everything. My greatest desire. The fuel that pumped through my veins.

The sun beamed down on her skin, glistening on her flawless fair body. Almost flawless anyway.

The marks from our recent times in the playroom were still visible, her wrists that were tucked under her chin revealing a crimson burn from her pulling on the restraints. Her plump breast scarred from the lashes of the flogger, and her upper thighs holding the same marks as her breast.

I was terrified at the pain I had caused her, but horrified that I wanted to cause more.

Braelynn had repeated over and over that she loved the marks and the pleasures they gave her. Since she had rejected my proposal, I began to feel that she was slipping away. The grasp I had over her was fading and my need for her had been replaced with rage and want. I needed to punish her for saying no, whip her flesh when I felt her slipping out of my hands. Though I was sickened once we were done, massaging the welts kissing them with my love, I reveled in her moans and her screams of pleasure made me hungry for more.

She had turned me into the monster I now was. Possessive, demanding, and hungrier for her than I had ever been. Her arousal when I slid deep inside her had me on the brink of losing myself. The way she came around me, choking my cock … it was indescribable. But when she bowed her head, her blonde hair covering her face as she submitted to me, that had my inner Dom crawling out of my body, wanting to take full reign over hers.

And I did.

For the past six weeks she’d spent every night with me, letting me have full possession of her weak body. But the nagging voice in my head kept saying that our time was limited.

“You’re doing it again,” she whispered, her voice filled with exhaustion. Her eyes peered open when she spoke.

I leaned forward, kissing the tip of her nose. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I lied.

“Yes, you do. You’re thinking so loud I can hear it in my sleep.”

“Lynn—”

“Stop it!” Her eyes flashed open, and a sea of green and brown specks pierced me. “You aren’t hurting me.”

I shook my head, completely disagreeing with her. “Look at the bruises on your skin.” I traced my hand over her soft breast.

“I have a safe word and I have yet to use it.” She pulled the cover over her blemished flesh and turned on her side.

She hadn’t used it yet…

But would she?

Title: Ensnared

Series: (The Life of Anna #4)

Author:  Marissa Honeycutt
Release Date: February 13th

                                               Goodreads

Everything Anna cared about is lost; the only thing left is Devin. She gives him all of herself, but even that seems too little.
As Anna realizes the truth of her Master’s desire, she must decide what it is that she truly wants.
There is a subculture within our own world that you’ve only heard whispers of. The conspiracy theorists wish they knew Anna’s story. What the conspiracy theorists think they know is only disinformation, put out there to keep them from the real story.
***NOTE***
This is not a stand-alone novel. This is the fourth of five novels that tell Anna’s story.
***WARNING***
This book is for grownups. This book is not for people who are easily offended, get nightmares easily, or have difficulty reading books about tough subjects. I do not glorify bad things, but bad things do happen to my poor characters. This is not your typical love story. My heroine does not fall in love and live happily ever after… at least not like the typical heroine. There is a happily ever after, but it is a long, painful journey to that end.
This book will likely offend you. This book might make you cry; it might make you throw up. It is a dark book. As my friend, Heidi, said, “It’s dark. It gets darker. It gets even darker, and then it gets even more darker. And then, just when you think it can’t get any darker, it does.”
But, don’t worry. I take you to the deep end gradually. 😉
There are many sexual situations in this series of books. People die. People get hurt. Things aren’t always truly the way they appear. The antagonist isn’t just a bad guy; he’s EVIL. My heroine’s worldview is skewed; things that may appall you are perfectly normal to her.
Any violence in this book is non-gratuitous and crucial to the plot and character development.
Do not read this if you are under the age of consent in your country. Do not get angry if the subject or actual book upsets you. If you’re reading this, you’ve been warned.

Chapter One

(Two Years Later)

Anna felt herself rising to a stark and brutal level of consciousness, only dimly aware that she lay flat on her back in her own bed at the Manor.

With lucidity came a dull, aching pain that grew with each breath she drew.

Devin had taken Anna’s baby. A child conceived out of love with Alex. The last vestige of Alex she had clung to. And Devin took it. Again.

Again?

No. It couldn’t be Alex’s baby. Alex was dead. He’d been dead for so long…she didn’t know how long. He was dead. But then why did Devin say it was Alex’s baby and get her so upset?

Anna felt the fog of confusion smothering her mind. She was always confused these days. Some days Devin said Alex was alive. Other days, Devin said Alex was dead. Why did he confuse her? It was hard enough keeping hold of reality as it was. But when Devin bothered to speak to her, it got even more confusing.

Focus, Anna. Her inner voice sounded as weak as she felt, but she tried to comply, vaguely remembering back to a time when she could focus, when she was much stronger than she was now.

They’d just returned home from another Spring Gathering—her third, she thought. She’d been pregnant before they left. She was not pregnant now. Devin had told her before they left that it was Alex’s baby, and she’d believed him. She’d fought tooth and nail to keep him from taking it, but now it just seemed foolish. Alex had been dead for a long, long time.

Alex! The pain in her heart began again. She ran to the bathroom and tore open her relief cabinet of drugs.

It was empty.

“No!” she cried. “No!” She’d been a good girl. She’d done everything Devin had asked her to do. Why was he withholding her relief?

She ran to her bedroom door and pounded on it, screaming Devin’s name. She didn’t care if he came to punish her. She just needed him to come. Screaming his name always made him come. And it made him mad.

But no one came. She pounded on the door until her fists were bruised and bleeding, and still no one came.

Devin always came when she screamed. Why not this time?

She curled up in a ball on her bed and sobbed. Where was everybody? She’d been a good girl. She’d tried very hard to be obedient. Why was he punishing her? What had she done wrong?

The only time Devin required her to be coherent was during the Spring Gatherings, and even then she wasn’t completely coherent. He didn’t take her to the Summer Gatherings anymore. He said she didn’t need to be there, so she stayed home and got high. He didn’t really need her at all, except for one thing: a baby in the spring. Anna didn’t understand why.

She didn’t remember much of the last two years, except avoiding thoughts of Alex. She hadn’t seen or spoken to anyone since she’d come home from Germany. Except Wilhelm. He came out every few months and visited with her. She didn’t like it when he came. He reminded her too much of Alex.

But when he left, she felt so lonely.

The drugs were seeping out of her system now and she couldn’t avoid thinking about Alex. She missed him. So much it hurt to breathe.

She looked at her right hand. Devin had made her take off her diamond rings, but made her wear her right hand wedding band. Every time she looked at it, pain stabbed her heart. She tried to take it off one time and Devin got so angry. It didn’t make any sense. Why would Devin want her to remember her dead husband?

Her hand was swollen from pounding on the door and it made the ring tight. Normally it was too loose; she’d lost a lot of weight over the last two years. She didn’t even like to look in the mirror now.

Tommy had been astonished when he saw her last week at the Gathering. She recalled the shock on his face and his concerned exclamation: “You’ve gotten so thin! I’m worried about you.”

“I’m fine,” Anna had protested. She appreciated his concern, but she was fine.

Anna had been astounded to see Aaron at the Gathering. She couldn’t make herself speak to him, but saw him and Tommy talking a lot. Travis was there as well and the three of them seemed inseparable.

Life had changed a lot in the last two years. She rarely left her room, was rarely called upon to perform any sexual duties. Men just didn’t seem interested in her body without the curves; but Anna didn’t mind. Ian stayed with her several nights a week and that was all she needed. Devin only spent the night with her once in a while. If she’d been sober enough to care, she would have been hurt.

The door opened and she flipped over to see Maggie enter carrying a tray.

“Maggie!” she cried. “Where’s Devin?”

Maggie gave her a sympathetic look. “Master said that he would come see you after you ate.”

“Why is my cabinet empty?” Anna demanded.

Maggie’s eyes widened and she flinched at Anna’s sudden, mercurial demeanor. “Master said to take everything out while you were gone. I don’t know, Mistress.”

“I’m not hungry,” Anna huffed. If she couldn’t have her drugs, then she wouldn’t eat.

“Master said he wouldn’t come see you if you didn’t eat,” Maggie said quietly.

Anna narrowed her eyes at the tray of food. “Fine.”

She got up on shaky legs and walked to the table and began eating. Maggie left the room after watching her for a minute and Anna was left alone.

It was too quiet. She looked around for the remote for the TV and saw it on the nightstand. Anna sighed. She couldn’t reach it and didn’t have the energy to get up and get it. Maybe after she ate.

Clouds In My Coffee

When Parrish Locke, a 27 year-old fashion model, discovers she has a gift, she wishes it was the type that could be returned. That’s not the case. You see, under the right circumstances, Parrish can help “stalled souls” pass beyond the pearly gates. That’s right – she can communicate with their spirits. Clouds In My Coffee finds Parrish back in the 1970’s, in a small Wyoming town where a high school cheerleader died as a result of a car accident one snowy night. But Parrish knows that isn’t what really happened. After forty years, how will she convince authorities there is more to the story?

Enter Marco Trevani, Jr., a handsome, somewhat arrogant FBI agent that Parrish’s father calls in to assist his gifted daughter. The chemistry between them is undeniable. But there’s another surprise in store for Parrish.

From Silent Whisper

“Baby,” he said softly, “My life is what it is. I grew up knowing what I was and what I would always be, the same as my father, and his father before him in Sicily. It’s not a career choice; it’s simply a way of life that I was born into. But I can promise you that I will never allow you to become part of it. I will make sure that you are never at risk, and that you have no reason to be concerned about your safety or culpability in anything. Do you understand?”

His dark brown eyes were studying me, wanting to make sure that I knew he was my protector in all of this.

I swallowed nervously under his perusal, and nodded.

And that night, Dominic loved me with a passion that had been absent before, though I never would’ve guessed that he had been holding anything back. It was different that night. Haunting yet exciting at the same time and it felt dangerous.

It might’ve been because of our earlier mutual declaration of love; or it might’ve been because I now knew the extent of this man’s power, along with his promise to be my protector. So let’s face it, his power, along with his passion for me was a potent aphrodisiac for this girl from Chester, West Virginia.

But it also might’ve been because Dominic didn’t permit me to put my diaphragm in before we hit the sheets that night.

“No Karlie,” he said, pulling me gently back to him as I started for the bathroom to do what I always did before sex. His fingers tilted my chin, forcing me to gaze into his dark eyes.

“Not tonight. Not anymore.”

And I didn’t argue because it would’ve been pointless. Dominic had made up his mind as to what he wanted, and it was something that apparently he wanted from me.

A child.

He had never gone into detail as to the specifics, but I’d gotten the impression that having children was important to Dominic. He had never elaborated as to why they had no children, and I didn’t think it was my place to ask.

After that night, I knew it was a conversation that we needed to have. Bringing Dominic Castellano’s child into this world was something I wasn’t sure that I could ever do.

And it had nothing to do with the fact that he was married. It was because having his child meant that he or she would be born into the same life that he had been born into, and his ancestors before him.

While I loved this man, I couldn’t fathom allowing a child of mine to follow in those kinds of footsteps, and I wasn’t all that sure that I’d have a choice in the matter.

Author Bio

10899986_1537995699804922_570479309709522933_oI was born in Seattle Washington, but soon moved to a small town North of there, which is where I grew up. I’m the oldest of five children, so it was a lively household, and reading became my way to block out the noise. I am an avid reader. I love every genre, but romance and happily ever afters have always been my favorite books. I remember in middle school my biology teacher taking a Rosemary Rogers book away from me; I didn’t understand why—she was certainly teaching me aspects of biology!

As I grew up, I would write stories to entertain myself and my younger siblings. I often wrote their book reports for them. My brothers were only one year apart in age. I wrote a report for the oldest his senior year, he turned it in and got a B+. The next year John turned in the same report to the same teacher and got an A-, the year after that the youngest turned it in to the same teacher and got an A. The teacher liked it better each time he read it!

I’ve worked in corporate America for most of my life, where a lot of creative writing takes place (and if you don’t believe me, you really don’t know corporate America). I blogged to all my employees when I spent six weeks in India—they considered me quite the smartass. My corporate life has allowed me to live in Washington, Texas, Belgium and California.

I have been with the same man for seventeen years. He was born and raised in Texas, and twelve years ago I whisked him, kicking and screaming, to Southern California. Luckily he loves me and wants to be where I am, but he’s still a Texan at heart (although he doesn’t miss Texas summers). I’m a very lucky woman who enjoys swimming, traveling, babysitting her nieces and nephews and doing lots of “research” with her husband for upcoming books.

After being such a fan of romance all my life, I was reading Sophie Oak’s Bliss and Siren in the City series last year, and they weren’t coming out fast enough. I started thinking about a place up in the Northwest, and characters started spinning in my head. Then came Chance. Once he was there, he demanded to be put down on paper. I don’t really write the stories. For real, the stories just come out of my fingers onto the computer screen. Half the time I’m surprised by what ends up being typed!

Chapter One

“Tell me where you came from.”

It always started this way. First the question, then the excruciating pain as the electric paddles were held against her temples. The smell of her burning flesh. Then they would take the rubber bit from her mouth and ask another question. Another question she couldn’t answer.

“How many of you are there?”

She prayed to all the saints her mother taught her that this time she would pass out. It was the only thing to ever stop the questions. Stop the pain.

“I don’t know!” she wailed, as the bit was shoved into her mouth. She squeezed her eyes so tight she saw stars before the shocking red flames took over her very being.

“Where did you come from? Where are the rest of you now?” They yanked the bit from her mouth, making her lip bleed.

“Just tell me what you want me to say…” her voice didn’t sound like her own. For hours or months, she wasn’t sure how long she begged them to tell her what they wanted her to answer. The paddles were again placed on her temples. Fire exploded behind her eyes and her teeth actually tore into the rubber bit.

****

She wasn’t strapped down. She stretched and it felt wonderful, until the pins and needles started. Where was she? She wanted to see if they noticed they forgot to buckle the straps. She tried to look around. She couldn’t. She was blind. They’d blinded her, the shock therapy had blinded her. Oh God. She trembled in horror for long moments before realizing it was her eyelids, they were swollen shut. She tried to touch them to make sure it was the only thing wrong but pain seared her arm.

Moving slowly to restore some circulation to her limbs, she realized she was lying on something soft. Rolling just a little so she wasn’t lying on her arm, she fell on to a hard cement floor. It hurt, it was cold, but at least she could move. Trying to stand up, she used the cot as leverage, but her legs wouldn’t support her.

She crawled and bumped her head against a wall. Using it as a guide she followed it around the small room with cement walls, basically a cell. Mostly empty except for the cot and the toilet, there was a tray with something that felt and smelled like bread and cheese. She wolfed down some of the food, but there wasn’t anything to drink. Crawling over to the toilet she flushed it, then greedily drank handfuls of water.

“Good to see you’re back with us Kelly.” She hadn’t heard any door open or anything else to indicate she wasn’t alone.

“Who are you? What do you want from me?” Cringing at the desperate edge in her voice, she clamped her lips tight. God, how she wanted to beg for water that didn’t come from a toilet, for food, or a blanket, or to go home.

“Who are we? You don’t get to ask the questions, we do. We want to know who all of you are. We know about you and the four others. You all showed up twenty years ago. Why did you come here? Where did you come from?” The woman’s voice was calm and soothing. It was like they were having a polite conversation, but Kelly knew the horror awaiting her at the woman’s command.

“I told you, I don’t remember anything before waking up in Dad’s police car.” Kelly’s voice was raspy from all the screams, but at least it was even.

“But Kelly, Mike Wachowski isn’t really your father now is he?” Again the woman’s speech was calm and soothing. “You appeared out of thin air twenty years ago and were adopted into his family, isn’t that right?”

It wasn’t a question, and Kelly didn’t reply, but suddenly realized what was coming next. She’d forgotten. This wasn’t the first time she’d woken up in this room and drank from the toilet bowl. Doubted it was even the tenth time. It had to be the shock treatments. They were messing with her memory. She didn’t remember when she’d been kidnapped, but it had to have been well over a month, oh God, could it have been a year?

She sat there, turning her head away from the direction of the voice. She waited, and then heard more people entering the cell, knowing what came next. Holding up her arms she didn’t have long to wait, they were there, grabbing and dragging her out.

****

“Noooooo-aaaahhhhh!”

“Shove the bit in again. I don’t want her biting through her tongue. Hopefully this new dosage will break down the damn barrier.”

Whatever chemicals they gave her burned as they made their way into her system. She moaned around the rubber bit and struggled with the restraints as the paddles were placed against her temples. Maybe they’d finally kill her and her suffering would end.

First black, then white, and then the red of fire and pain. Coursing through her like molten fire, through every molecule, forcing her to lose control of her bodily functions.

The colors burst in front of her, yellows, purples, pinks and blues. Ripping the head off one wildflower she pushed it against her nose and inhaled the fragrance, and then threw back her head and laughed. The sun was up and warm against her bare shoulders. Charging forward, she giggled as the flowers brushed legs, the soft grass squishy between her toes. She soared over the log in her path, and then she saw him.

Noah was her best friend. She knew he wanted to be alone, but he needed her. Tiptoeing behind him, she jumped up to surprise him as he turned around. He gave her a dark look but she smiled at him and flung her arms wide, watching as his face suffused with laughter. He scooped her up and twirled her around. He was nine and she was five, but their age difference didn’t matter, they were best friends. Grabbing his silky black hair as he twirled her, she hugged his neck, and Kali was content. Nothing was better in her world than loving Noah, he belonged to her.

“Don’t be sad anymore, Noah.”

“I’m not sad, Kali.”

“Don’t lie.”

“I’m leaving with the others.” She’d known. But she didn’t want him to leave. “Kalani, you need to understand, let me show you.” He touched their foreheads together.

“No, I don’t want to see.”

“Open up Kali, you need to see. Let me show you.”

Kali relaxed and let him share the other universe needing their help. He revealed everything. So many things didn’t make sense, but the pain and suffering was easy to comprehend, and more, she could see what it was Noah and the others were supposed to do. It was simple, they were to be themselves and just help a little.

He was right, he had to go, it was important. Kali started to cry. She knew it meant she would have to leave everything she loved, her Nana, the meadow, and everything else, because there was no way Noah was leaving without her.

Undercover work sucked. As a shadow hunter for the Umbra, Justice Cameron was used to sliding into one dangerous situation after another. Infiltrating the motorcycle club, Pride of Kings, to wrap up two outstanding cases should have been quick and painless, turns out it was anything but. Justice didn’t count on Ethan Stone’s son, Xavier, to complicate his assignment.

He ‘fixes broken things’, and no one is more broken than Justice. When Xavier finds Justice beaten on his doorstep, he never imagined he would feel such a potent connection. The big, gruff alpha fascinates Xavier, and it turns out, the attraction is mutual.

The shadow hunter is there for one reason only. No time for complications. No time for desire…or love. Or so he tells himself, because he’s there to mete out…cold, hard justice.

EXCERPT (ADULT)

Cracking open one eye—the other one was swollen shut—Justice glanced around the room. He lay on a large leather sofa. The interior had a log cabin motif, comfy and warm, and a fire burned low in the hearth. Two cats were curled up sleeping in front of the fireplace. Since when did lion shifters, or any Feline shifter, keep cats as pets? Most animals had a shifter equivalent, but not a housecat. A man walked into his line of vision. A crow, perched on the man’s forearm, was being fed seeds. Who is this guy, Doctor fucking Doolittle? The Crow Whisperer?

Then Justice recalled Ethan’s words. He likes to fix broken things. Must extend to wounded animals. Guess he qualified, and in more ways than one.

“Ah, you’re awake.”

The gentle tone of the man’s voice curled about Justice’s little-used heart, causing it to thump harder in his chest.

“I’m Xavier Lennox. You’re in my home, such as it is, and welcome to stay until you’re back on your feet.” He gently set the crow on the table and laid a pile of seeds next to the bird. He turned his attention back to Justice. Xavier was not bad looking. He had a pleasant face, even if part of his left cheek was scarred. Short sucker for a Leonne, he observed, as most all lion shifters were built the same, very tall and broad. Xavier had a slim musculature, and wore those tight-fitting Wranglers very well. Blood rushed to Justice’s cock, lengthening and thickening it. This he didn’t need. This was Ethan’s son, for shit’s sake. Stay focused on the assignment.

Forming words was difficult. A dry croak came out of his mouth. Damn, his bottom lip was split and swollen. One day and very soon, he would pay Ethan back for this. Big time.

Xavier rushed to his side, gently lifted his head, and let him drink from a bottle of water. Cold ambrosia. It soothed his raw throat. At this close proximity, the unknown but pleasing scent slammed Justice hard. He closed his eye and reveled in it. He’d never experienced this before. Contentment. An inner peace. And an arousal that shot clear off the charts. His cock throbbed in his jeans in concert with his rapidly beating heart.

Lost in the overwhelming sensations, Justice didn’t realize Xavier had laid him flat, and now sat on a stool next to him tenderly wiping the blood and gore from his face.

“Someone certainly tried to do you serious damage. After I clean you up a bit, I’ll let you sleep. I can tape your ribs tomorrow. Is anything else broken?”

Xavier left the cool cloth lying across Justice’s forehead, and then began exploring his torso. Oh, sweet Jesus, his touch. His body was aflame, and not just in pain. Try as he might, he could not stop the long, ragged moan from leaving his lips.

Xavier froze. “Am I hurting you?”

Justice shook his head. No, just keep fucking touching me. Please. Forever.
