Wow! Soo I’m on a kick of reading authors I’ve never read before and Filthy Rich just made me a fan of Dawn Ryder.

This book is well written and I was immediately immersed into the lives of Celeste and Nartan. To say that Celeste has some emotional baggage is putting it mildly, this chick has been through hell! I love how despite her issues and reservations she still recognizes the immediate attraction to Nartan, even if she doesn’t want to act on it. Nartan is literally sex on two legs…tall, dark, handsome, AND rich….hell yea!! With some emotional baggage of his own Nartan is able to recognize the issues that plague Celeste and he wants her all the same. Despite his usual feelings in “relationships” he’s not about to give up….after all he’s used to getting what he wants!

Filthy Rich will make you feel….that’s it you will FEEL! I love a book where you can feel the emotion in the story even if at times what you feel is like smacking a character or two lol. Job well done!

A howl woke her.

Celeste sat up and looked around the room.

The sun had finally gone down sometime after ten. Now the stars were brilliant, and a yellow moon was casting an amazing level of light in the nighttime hours.

There was a whimper and then another long howl.

Alaskan wolves.

She could sleep when she got back to Southern California.

She got up and hurried into her jeans. Only the range light was on in the kitchen, but with so much moonlight coming through the windows, it was easy to get to the mudroom and lace up her boots.

She opened the outer door slowly, sliding through to keep from moving it too much. A howl sounded, so much louder now that she was outside. She pressed the door shut and knelt down.

The starlight illuminated the wolves. At least six of them were pawing the ground as they moved along the road that connected the house with the test facility offices. Those offices weren’t even in sight.

But the wolves were.

And so was Nartan.

He was crouched down twenty feet away. Her breath caught as she took in the way he blended with the moment. The wolves made yipping sounds as they came closer, smelling the road and the air as they went.

Nartan lifted his hand and beckoned her toward him. Her steps seemed too noisy, the crunching sounds grating on her ears. A wolf looked toward her and she froze.

Nartan beckoned again, turning to look at her.

The animal was still fifty feet away, but it was looking toward her. She bit her lower lip, afraid of spooking the animal.

Nartan closed in on her, moving right up next to her.

“He can smell you. You’re upwind. Come down here with me. He won’t worry about you then.”

Nartan clasped her hand and pulled her down to where he’d been. He lifted his head, judging the wind. The wolf let out a yip and joined the rest as they scratched at the dirt and one another. Two of them would circle another, lowering their heads and yipping. The wolf in the center was the one who lifted its head and let out a long howl.

“The alpha…” Nartan whispered.

He had his arm draped around her, his scent filling her senses.

Why did he smell so good?

Not that it really mattered. He was still as pond water but his skin was warm. His attention was on the wolves, but she felt like it was on her as well. He shifted just a bit, and inhaled next to her hair.

Fresh from bed, it was a soft cloud. She reached up, self–conscious about how messy it was. He caught her hand and stopped her as the alpha looked at them. The animal’s eyes were pools of moonlight. Its mouth was open, giving her a glimpse of its long canine teeth. It made a low sound before pushing its front paws out and stretching its neck up and tilting its head until its nose pointed at the moon. A long, mournful cry filled the night.

It felt like she was suspended in time. They might have been anywhere, in any year.

“Lower your head.”

He tucked his chin and cupped her nape.

“To show submission…”

Celeste stiffened. Nartan chuckled in a bare whisper next to her ear. “To the alpha.”

She bent, the wolf watching her before losing interest and moving along with the pack.

Nartan massaged her neck, his fingers working the stiffness from the muscles as she straightened. “Well done.”

It felt like there was innuendo in his comment. But maybe she was just being too sensitive.

To–be–dealt–with list.

She drew in a deep breath and forced herself to relax. The wolves were moving away now, heading toward a forested area. The alpha looked back at them before it disappeared into the timber.

“That was amazing,” she whispered.

Nartan’s hand was under her hair, the touch so intimate that she was loath to pull away. He threaded his fingers through her hair, pulling his hand free as he finger–combed the strands. He watched her as he did it, his eyes reflecting the moonlight just as the alpha’s had.

He was in his element.

Call it cheesy or lame but she couldn’t shake it.

So she rose, backing away from him as he stood. His shirt was open all the way down his front, his jeans sagging low on his waist because he didn’t have a belt on. And his feet were bare.

“Aren’t you cold?”

He slowly smiled and extended his hand. “Judge for yourself.”

She started to reach for him and froze. Indecision held her in its grip as the wind blew her hair around. One of his dark eyebrows rose as she hesitated.

She reached out and touched him. Allowed her fingertips to rest on his forearm for a moment that felt like a mini eternity. It ended when he twisted his arm around and captured her wrist. He stepped up to her, pulling her toward him. She could have broken the hold, if she was able to think.

Which she wasn’t.

Her brain seemed to have shut down. Somehow, she was caught in a storm of sensations, completely unwilling to think about anything. She simply wanted to experience the moment.

Well, it was quite a moment.

Rich with scents and sensations that were intoxicating. His breath teased her ear and then her cheek. A shudder shook her, sending a tiny gasp through her lips. Nartan took advantage of her parted lips, pressing his down on top of them and tasting them slowly.

God, how long had it been since she’d been kissed?

Pleasure flowed through her, gaining strength like a flame catching a wick. Sure, she knew that a candle was for lighting, but until it was lit, the memory of how bright it could shine was dim.

She stepped back. Startled by how much she liked his kiss.

She wanted more.

A hell of a lot more.

But she turned and headed back into the house before she could do anything impulsive.

Moon madness. That was all.

Only she wasn’t really sure if she would ever be sane again.

Review: Animal Attraction by Angel Payne

Animal Attraction was previously published in the limited edition box-set “Danger Zone: Tales of Military Passion”.

Life’s a jungle.
Nobody agrees with that more than workaholic bioscientist Charlotte Sinclare, struggling as her mind and body are subjected to waves of inexplicable lust for a faceless dream lover. Normally thrilled with journeys into the scientific unknown, Charlotte isn’t amused by this joke—especially upon discovering that the man of her fantasies is Naval MP officer Kaden Tiernan.

Sure, Kade’s a hunk—a fact not ignored by Charlotte three years ago, when her focus on a research expedition was interrupted by a wild crush on the man. But Tiernan made it clear that all he saw in her was a brainy prude, burning any connection they’d share, even as friends.

Only now, their mutual survival depends on them being more than friends. Much more.

Pheromones set free during Charlotte’s experiment have mutated into primal need, turning Kaden Tiernan into a lover Lottie has never dared dream of before. In his kisses, she learns beauty. In his touch, she learns surrender. In his passion, she learns strength.

But none of it is real. The bond is a chemical reaction, nothing more—a truth Charlotte and Kade attempt to accept together, even as fate twines them tighter each day. Can they continue keeping their hearts closed while their bodies tangle? Or is it impossible to seal one’s soul off from love, even if it’s inspired by animal attraction?

A friend asked me to read this book, and I went in unsure of exactly what kind of story I would find. If you are looking for a shifter story, look elsewhere. What you have here is an incredibly well constructed, quick paced, erotic suspense story. This is the first book I have read by Angel Payne and it certainly won’t be the last. Ms. Payne’s use of language and imagery cast this book in a different light for me. I love the clever use of imagery, similes and metaphors that propel the story along. This author gives you very little time to get comfy in the story before seducing the reader with an erotic scene.

Charlotte and Kade have a past, although neither of them were courageous enough to try to break their traditional roles and give in to their attraction. Kade,, the brash MP, provided security aboard a naval vessel that Dr. Charlotte has used for research three years ago. Something unusual is happening to those that had been aboard that ship. Not to give too much away, let’s just say if the “virus” in this novel were real, I would NOT want a vaccine. Libidos are raging and so is Kade when he charges back into Charlotte’s life. Still wary of their not quite friendly past, together they try to figure out what is happening to their shipmates and themselves. The climax of the story is heart wrenching but in fine fashion Ms. Payne allows the heart to win in the end. I like that the story is left open ended to revisit the characters and perhaps solve the suspense story line without an international incident. ~Karen

I am an Angel Payne virgin and I have to say I was not disappointed.
Charlotte met Kaden three years ago when she was aboard his military ship doing a research project on pheromones and when she left the ship after her research was done she never expected to see him again.
When Charlotte is called  home from a boss ordered vacation Kaden is the reason she is called home. they are both having the same erotic faceless dreams along with a few other men from the ship.
it doesn’t take them long to figure out that its from Lotte’s research project, they give in to their desires and satisfy their desires.  charlotte tries to resist Kaden but gives in after four days where she spends her evenings satisfying her needs with Kaden and her days trying to find an antdote to the pheromone bond that she shares with him.
will Charlotte figure out how to cure their bond and will their feelings for each be real or will they got their separate ways??? ~ Kendra

About Author

USA Today bestseller Angel Payne has been reading and writing her entire life, though her love for romances began in junior high, when writing with friends on “swap stories” they’d trade between classes. Needless to say, those stories involved lots of angst, groping, drama, and French kissing.
Some years, various entertainment industry gigs, and a number of years in the hospitality industry later, Angel returned to writing books, focusing on the stuff she loves the most: passionate love stories featuring alpha men and the women who tame them. Along the way, she also graduated from Chapman University in Southern California, taking departmental honors for English, and penned five historical romances for Kensington and Bantam/Doubleday/Dell.
Angel has numerous book series to her credit, including:
The Kinky Truth series
The Secrets of Stone series (with Victoria Blue)
The W.I.L.D. Boys of Special Forces series
The Cimarron series
Angel still lives in Southern California, where she is married to her dream alpha guy and lives on a street that looks like Brigadoon, with their awesome daughter. When not writing, she enjoys reading, pop culture, cute shoes, and hanging at the beach with family and friends.

Blog Tour: Her Dom by A.D. Justice and Giveaway (Review)

My name is Dominic Powers. My software engineering company, DPS, is one of the top 500 companies in the world. Conducting a search for my Personal Assistant brought an unexpected candidate straight to me.

I knew she was different as soon as she walked into my high-rise office. She exuded innocence and inexperience. Those are two things in a woman that normally don’t attract me, but I am apparently making an exception for her. She’s young and delicate – and I’m afraid she won’t make it in my world.

But the carnal man I’ve kept hidden deep inside me says I have to try.

She is my Sophia Vasco.

I am Her Dom.

Her Dom (Dominic Powers, #1)Her Dom by A.D. Justice

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ve been looking forward to Her Dom for quite some time. There’s so much more to the story beyond the cover and title.

Her Dom is from Dominic’s point of view, Dominic is a successful business owner of DPS. Dominic is in search of a personal assistant and on the verge of giving up on his search for someone that can help him in every way shape or form that he can trust with his company when he’s not available or when decisions need to be made on behalf of him.

This is where Sophia walks in, from the moment she steps through the Dominic’s office door and interviews with Dominic they have a relationship that starts to form that neither one of them expected. Drawn together in ways that neither one of them expected they build a working relationship that fall in the place very easily and the trust starts to form and they continue to deny the attraction that they have for one another beyond professional.

Sophia has a very strong take charge type personality but when she comes around Dominic she because submissive type behavior that draws Dominic’s dominant side, relationship starts to form we start to delve into Sophia’s past as well as Dominic’s past, as far as why Sophia is the way she is as well is why Dominic has not been in a relationship for over year.

Not a typical BDSM book but the way that the words are written it’s very clear on how the relationship starts to form ,how trust is built between the two, considering the past that they both have it’s very clear how Dominic starts to build Sophia’s trust how they take it very slow based on Sophia’s past. The way that the plot twists and turns it definitely makes me want more and I cannot wait till the next book comes out to see what happens or if they take their relationship any further at all.

Book is gifted in exchange for an honest review
